View from re-entry into Earth's atmosphere

Title

View from re-entry into Earth's atmosphere

Subject

View from re-entry into Earth's atmosphere

Description

View from window 4, right-hand rendezvous window, of re-entry into Earth's atmosphere. The plasma generated by the intense shock wave across the heatshield is prominent. Earth's horizon can be seen to rotate as the command module rolls around under computer control to steer itself to the designated landing site. This footage was shot into a mirror and has been flipped to restore the correct geometry.
