Apollo 15 has just gone behind the Moon near the end of their second orbit. While out of contact with Earth, the only planned item is the Descent Orbit Insertion (DOI) burn. This audio is from that period.

EVA 1: Station 2 Boulder Segment

This video focuses on a nineteen minute portion of the Geology Station 2 part of EVA 1 (between 122:38 and 122:57) and condenses the events into a four minute video. Scott and Irwin examine a boulder that is covered in glass and has a linear fracture through one side.

This video focuses on the discovery of the “Genesis rock” at the 145:42 point during EVA 2. This rock is one of the best known samples from Apollo 15, in part because it was the first discovery of crystalline rock on the Moon, aside from small pieces in soil samples.
